Shibuya Scramble Square To Get Nearly 230-Meter-High Observation Deck in Tokyo

The Shibuya Scramble Square building, also known as Shibuya Sky, is scheduled for an autumn 2019 completion. The project is part of the extensive Shibuya Station District Redevelopment.

The 47-story skyscraper will offer a 360-degree view of Tokyo from its observation deck “Shibuya Sky,” nearly 230 meters above the famous Shibuya Crossing. Shibuya Sky will also offer expansive views of Tokyo icons, including Tokyo Skytree, and even Mount Fuji on a clear day.

The tourist- and youth-heavy area is known for the Shibuya Scramble crossing, and the statue of Hachiko, the famously faithful canine who waited at the station for years after his owner’s death. The area has become synonymous with these tourist magnets, as well as a place to experience cutting-edge fashion culture.

Significant redevelopments to Shibuya are already underway. The Shibuya Stream recently opened, which is a restaurant and cafe complex with event space.
